Psalms 24:1-2 The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters.
Throughout history, people became self-involved and sought pleasures and comforts of the earth instead of the Lord. It seemed to the Lord God that they forgot him. They did not pray to him, and instead of relationship with God, they involved themselves in sin. In Isaiah 1, Isaiah relates the vision that he saw from the Lord. The Lord was angry with the people because of their sin and considered the people of Judah and Jerusalem rebellious. In Isaiah 1:6-7, the people are described as wounded and uncared for.
